GlobeCross has opened its new headquarters at Frankfurt Airport, bringing together eCommerce logistics, customs clearance and import terminal operations in one location. This move follows the heyworld and CB Customs Broker merger and will herald a new chapter in the development of the company as an integrated logistics service provider.
“Together these critical functions will be housed under one roof allowing GlobeCross to collaborate more between teams, speed up decision-making and provide the operational base to support the company’s future growth. The site at one of Europe’s leading logistics hubs is expected to support further integration across its operations.
GlobeCross is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lufthansa Cargo and offers cross-border eCommerce logistics and customs services, allowing businesses to ship goods into and throughout Europe in compliance with customs requirements. The new headquarters reflects the company’s ambition to integrate these services into a more integrated structure, with operational efficiency, innovation and customer service remaining central priorities.
“The combination of the two organizations is important and the new headquarters will act as a shared gateway based on our combined cultures, values and expertise,” said Ashwin Bhat, CEO of Lufthansa Cargo. He also underlined that the initiative supports Lufthansa Cargo’s broader purpose of facilitating global business.
This move is more than just a change of address for GlobeCross Managing Director Nikola Todic. “The headquarters represents the company’s collective journey and the organization we are building, with stronger connections and a shared sense of purpose underpinning our ambition to turn borders into gateways,” he said.
The merger also marks the transition to a single operating model for GlobeCross for eCommerce logistics, customs clearance and import terminal handling. The intention behind merging the teams is to stimulate creativity, improve internal co-ordination and enhance the service provided to customers.
The new headquarters is now up and running. Other offices are in the Netherlands and China and GlobeCross has also expanded its footprint beyond Germany.
