MAAP combines supply chain capabilities to enable global growth
Australian cycling apparel brand MAAP has teamed up with Bamboo Rose to bring a number of key supply chain activities together on one technology platform. The initiative, announced in a press release October 7, is intended to improve operations and give teams more visibility throughout the product lifecycle.
The company is using Bamboo Rose’s TotalPLM platform, which utilizes artificial intelligence to help integrate planning, design, product development, sourcing and order management. MAAP will integrate these capabilities to enhance the accuracy of its data, reduce manual effort, increase operational visibility and speed up decision making.
The change comes as the company’s current international operations face a challenge. Bamboo Rose said MAAP had to make changes across three different software platforms to make one single product change across its global network. The aim is to centralize these activities to improve ease of use and to give teams a more consistent view of product information.
“Moving to TotalPLM provides our teams with one source of truth through the product lifecycle,” said Erin Height, MAAP’s chief product officer, in the statement. “Improved visibility, accuracy and automation would enable the company to gear up for its next phase of growth, and give employees more time to focus on product innovation,” she said.
A global network of retailers to support
MAAP has international market customers and is making the investment in the technology. The Australian brand ships worldwide, and US orders are fulfilled from an LA warehouse. It has brick-and-mortar stores in several major cities, including Amsterdam, Los Angeles and Seoul.
The coordination of product information and supply chain activities across these markets is especially important through the integration of planning and sourcing processes. MAAP is looking to move to a common platform for its operations, to provide a more streamlined basis for managing products and supporting its international business.
Bamboo Rose Grows Retail Presence
MAAP, a retailer and brand, is the latest to leverage Bamboo Rose technology to manage products and supply chain more effectively. Its customers include Walmart, apparel retailer Pacsun, grocery retailer Wakefern Food Corp and apparel and footwear brand R.M.Williams.
Walmart has worked with Bamboo Rose since 2023, when the two companies partnered to build and deploy an enterprise resource planning platform. The project was developed to link Walmart’s tens of thousands of suppliers and offer greater visibility on volumes and costs.
Pacsun has also worked with Bamboo Rose on linked sourcing, and Wakefern Food Corp. and R.M.Williams have applied the technology for retail planning and product management needs respectively.
MAAP’s adoption of TotalPLM is part of a larger trend among retailers and consumer brands to integrate disparate systems, increase access to operational data and streamline the management of products across global supply chains. The goal of MAAP is to increase efficiency and have the agility to support future growth and innovation.
