SmartKargo introduces four AI applications to optimise airline cargo operations

The new applications integrate with existing cargo management systems and can be deployed within weeks, enabling airlines to adopt individual solutions or the complete portfolio without replacing their current platforms.

SmartKargo has launched four artificial intelligence (AI) applications to improve airline cargo operations, increase revenue, decrease costs and reduce operational risks. The solutions are available now and work with current cargo management systems, so airlines can take advantage of AI capabilities without having to move to a new platform.

The first portfolio consists of AIRCAM, AINOC, AIULD and AICTX. “Each application addresses specific operational challenges and is designed to deliver tangible benefits,” says SmartKargo. The tools can be used individually or in combination, depending on the airline’s priorities.

Four apps to tackle key cargo challenges

AIRCAM (AI Revenue and Capacity Management) applies forecasting and demand prediction to guide pricing and capacity decisions for cargo. The application recommends live spot rates and helps cargo teams optimize loading, pricing and capacity utilization across flights and routes.

With AINOC, the AI-powered Cargo Control Tower, operations teams can predict what is happening across the network. The application is designed to avoid delays and reduce costs on operational recovery by spotting potential exceptions before they become disruptions.

AIULD (AI ULD) and Asset Management focus on Unit Load Devices (ULDs). It tracks and predicts their location, condition and availability, helping airlines to mitigate losses and avoid delays due to uncertainty around the availability of these assets.

The fourth solution, AICTX, is a Universal Messaging and Interoperability Backbone . It connects cargo systems and business partners with a single message layer using industry norms. This method enables the exact exchange of data across the network and helps teams to make better operational decisions.

Integration without displacing existing systems

The applications are designed to work within an airline’s existing cargo management infrastructure, regardless of whether the airline uses a commercial platform or an in-house built system.

Their modular architecture allows implementation in weeks. Airlines can start with one application to meet an immediate operational need and grow usage as they see results. The thinking is that the approach should integrate with existing workflows rather than necessitate a wholesale replacement of established systems.

“We evaluate AI capabilities based on whether they generate revenue, reduce costs or mitigate risk for airlines,” said Olivier Houri, chief revenue officer at SmartKargo. He also said that the applications are built to function securely and responsibly.

SmartKargo plans to add more applications and enhancements to current capabilities to its portfolio. The operational challenges that airlines need to solve will drive future developments.

The four applications are available to any airline using a leading cargo management software. Carriers can therefore select individual tools or the entire portfolio, depending on their needs.

SmartKargo expansion aided by recent airline deals

The launch follows a series of agreements under which SmartKargo continues to support the operations of airlines in the cargo segment.

In July 2026 the company renewed its cargo management partnership with mas, continuing a relationship that began in 2018. The new agreement includes support for multi-channel booking and distribution, real-time visibility of shipments and cloud-based technology.

Sun Phu Quoc Airways earlier this month chose SmartKargo’s cloud-based cargo management platform to support the growth of its cargo business. The move comes as the carrier expands its international network and increases its belly cargo capacity with the arrival of Airbus A330 aircraft.

SmartKargo will add to its existing cargo management portfolio with the launch of four AI applications, which are designed to help airlines increase operational visibility, asset management, pricing decisions and connectivity across their cargo networks.
