Kalé has teamed up with Miami International Airport (MIA) to launch what the company calls the world’s first AI-native air-cargo community system (ACCS). The announcement was made today at the International Air Cargo Association’s Air Cargo Forum 2026.

The new platform will provide a centralized digital environment for communication within the airport’s air cargo community. It aims to speed up information sharing, improve coordination among supply chain stakeholders and ease congestion at one of the country’s most critical freight gateways.

The deployment will also make MIA the world’s largest cargo airport to deploy an AI-powered communications platform, bolstering its digital infrastructure as freight volumes and associated ground transport operations continue to place demands on the airport.

Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava welcomed the initiative, saying it would have a positive impact on the airport’s operational performance and long-term competitiveness.

“I’m thrilled that MIA is now the world’s busiest cargo hub to take advantage of this innovative technology. “Most importantly, this is about making MIA more future-ready – simplifying and expediting the movement of goods through our global gateway, supporting the businesses and jobs that depend on international trade, and ensuring that our airport remains an industry leader not just in cargo volume, but also in efficiency and sustainability,” she said.

Record freight volumes reveal the need for more efficiency

MIA was the busiest freight airport in the United States and the third busiest in the world, behind Hong Kong and Shanghai in the Far East, handling a record 3.4 million U.S. tons of freight in 2025.

This volume will have to be moved with a considerable daily transport capacity. The airport’s cargo operations, which include an average of 190 dedicated cargo flights and more than 1,600 truck trips a day, illustrate the level of coordination involved to keep freight moving efficiently.

His ACCS could thus bring substantial economic benefits to Kalé. Conservative estimates suggest that up to $250 million in annual operational cost savings across the air cargo supply chain could be achieved with the platform’s deployment across MIA’s cargo community, based on a 15% reduction in paper handling and two hours saved on average in truck turnaround time.

These projected savings illustrate the value that can be gained from digitalization in an environment where even relatively small improvements in processing and communication can have a substantial cumulative impact.

A digital platform for the global cargo community”

“We are excited to bring the benefits of digital coordination and increased visibility to one of the world’s major cargo hubs,” said Amar More, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kalé.

“Our research shows that cargo community systems are already improving collaboration and visibility across the industry, and MIA provides an opportunity to apply those benefits at one of the world’s major cargo gateways.” MIA moved 3.4 million tons of freight last year, so small inefficiencies can scale up quickly and a common digital platform can make a meaningful difference in operations.” This will also help MIA to connect with the world digitally,” More said.

The initiative shows the wider role of cargo community systems in connecting all the different participants in air freight operations through a common digital infrastructure. These platforms can help to reduce administrative friction and improve the visibility of cargo movements by facilitating the sharing of information between stakeholders.

Kalé, previously known as Kale Logistics Solutions, has been recognized by leading academic institutions and top global organizations including the United Nations. The recognition is for its contribution toward the digital empowerment of global supply chains and the promotion of paperless trade.

The company plans to bring its AI-native ACCS to Miami to deliver those digitalization benefits, enabling more efficient cargo operations and helping the airport strengthen its position within the international air freight network.
