SolitAir, a Dubai-based cargo carrier launched in 2024, has announced the commencement of its daily scheduled cargo flights between Dubai World Central (DWC) and Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport (RUH). This new route is set to bolster regional trade and provide faster, more reliable logistics solutions across the Middle East.

A Strategic Step in Air Cargo Connectivity

The Dubai-Riyadh corridor, already one of the busiest in the Middle East, will now benefit from SolitAir’s dedicated air freight services. This route reflects SolitAir’s commitment to catering to the growing demand for swift and dependable logistics solutions in a region that collectively handles over 1.2 million tonnes of air freight annually.

Key Details of the Service

  1. Flight Schedule
SolitAir will operate five weekly flights, running from Tuesday to Saturday, ensuring regular and dependable cargo movement.
  2. Aircraft and Capacity
The service will utilize Boeing 737-800 freighters, each with a payload capacity of 23 tonnes. Another 737-800 freighter is expected to join the fleet in January 2025, expanding operational capacity further.
  3. Expanded Reach
SolitAir plans to broaden its network to include India, Bangladesh, African nations, and Central Asian countries, reinforcing its role in connecting the Global South through Dubai’s strategic hub.

Advanced Infrastructure

Operating from a state-of-the-art 22,000 square-meter facility at Al Maktoum International Airport, SolitAir is equipped to handle a diverse array of cargo types, including:

  • E-commerce shipments
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Perishables
  • High-value and oversized cargo
  • Dangerous goods and vulnerable items

This infrastructure, combined with advanced tracking and handling technologies, enables the carrier to meet the complex and time-sensitive needs of its clients.

Driving Customer-Centric Logistics

Founder and CEO Hamdi Osman emphasized SolitAir’s focus on reliability and efficiency:
“We are dedicated to providing innovative, customer-focused solutions that drive success for businesses in today’s global marketplace. Our new route is a testament to this commitment as we aim to unlock the potential of the Global South’s growing economy.”

Competitive Advantages

  1. Faster Delivery Times
SolitAir’s middle-mile model ensures delivery within 12-24 hours, addressing the speed-to-market demands of freight forwarders, SMEs, and integrator airlines.
  2. Sustainability Focus
The airline leverages fuel-efficient aircraft and optimized routing strategies to minimize environmental impact while maximizing operational efficiency.
  3. Connectivity Leadership
Positioned in Dubai, a critical logistics hub, SolitAir is uniquely placed to facilitate seamless trade across continents.

Future Outlook

With this new route, SolitAir strengthens its position as a key player in the Middle East’s logistics landscape. The company’s vision to connect over 50 cities within a six-hour radius of Dubai highlights its ambition to redefine regional and global cargo connectivity.
