Air France KLM Martinair Cargo has named Bernard Geersing as its new vice president Europe, with his appointment taking effect on 1 May.
In his new position, Geersing will focus on further improving commercial performance and reinforcing customer relationships across the region.
He brings close to six years of experience within AFKLMP and is currently serving as vice president digital, distribution & customer service, where he has played an important role in advancing the company’s digital capabilities, strengthening customer service and supporting broader commercial results.
Before that, he was director of Benelux, a role in which he helped steer the organisation through the Covid-19 crisis while dealing with major swings in demand and tight capacity constraints. He also led a customer service transformation programme, redesigning processes, roles and ways of working.
Prior to joining AFKLMP, Geersing worked for Air Cargo Netherlands, the Dutch air cargo industry association, and also spent more than nine years with Air France-KLM, most recently as director direct sales & digital marketing Benelux.
GertJan Roelands, senior vice president commercial at Air France KLM Martinair Cargo, said Geersing’s appointment would help the company take the next step in delivering its cargo strategy in Europe.
At the same time, current vice president Europe Robert Kunen will move into the role of vice president CIO office within the Air France-KLM IT division. Roelands thanked him for his strong contribution to the cargo organisation.
