AIR ONE is growing its commercial footprint across the Asia Pacific region with the appointment of Ilya Gavrilin as Business Development Director APAC.
Gavrilin will be based at the aviation group’s new regional headquarters in Hong Kong and will focus on developing relationships with key customers around the region as well as expanding AIR ONE’s scheduled and charter freighter business.
Asia-Pacific Growth Outlook
In the new role, Gavrilin will lead commercial activities for AIR ONE’s managed fleet of freighters and work on developing the group’s network on major international trade lanes.
The fleet currently includes 11 Boeing 747-400Fs and two Boeing 777Fs, giving the airline considerable main-deck capability for long-haul cargo operations.
His appointment comes as demand for international air freight remains strong and continues to support growth in cargo links between Asia, Europe and other major markets.
Hong Kong remains an important hub
AIR ONE has been operating in the Asia-Pacific region since the launch of AIR ONE Aviation in April 2020.
In the past five years, the group has operated around 2,843 Boeing freighter flights connecting Asia-Pacific markets and major international cargo hubs.
The region represents a big part of the company’s network activity. More than 70% of those flights originated in APAC countries and 1,874 flights originated from Hong Kong itself.
The figures demonstrate the strategic significance of Hong Kong to AIR ONE’s freighter network and provide a strong platform for the carrier’s next phase of commercial development in the Asia-Pacific region.
