Brussels Airport and ConnexEurope have inaugurated a new logistics building within the airport’s cargo zone.

The facility will serve as ConnexEurope’s Belgian headquarters and support its wider European operations.

Previously operating under the Comexas name, the company has been active at Brussels Airport since the 1990s and specialises in logistics flows between Europe and Africa, with expertise in airfreight, seafreight, customs and transport services.

The new site, developed by Brussels Airport, includes approximately 3,400 square metres of warehouse space and 500 square metres of office space.

The facility consolidates ConnexEurope’s Belgian teams and operations under one roof, improving daily coordination across shipments and transport modes.

Sustainability played a key role in the design. The building has achieved BREEAM Excellent certification, recognising strong environmental and energy performance.

Geert Aerts, Chief Cargo & Real Estate at Brussels Airport, said the project reflects a long-standing partnership and demonstrates how airport infrastructure is evolving alongside logistics sector needs.

ConnexEurope currently employs around 25 people at Brussels Airport and is actively recruiting to support further growth.

Jan Willem de Braal, Group Managing Director at ConnexAfrica & ConnexEurope, said the new headquarters marks a major milestone and provides the structure needed to expand European activities while maintaining a strong service culture.

From Brussels, ConnexEurope manages airfreight through passenger aircraft, freighters and charters, in addition to seafreight and specialist cargo such as perishables and project shipments, particularly for mining clients in Africa.

Managing Director Charles de Cock said centralising operations will improve efficiency, strengthen handling of complex shipments and reinforce the company’s long-term role at Brussels Airport.
