CEVA Logistics has added to its healthcare logistics infrastructure in France with the opening of a new 17,000-square-meter facility in the Strasbourg-Entzheim Airport business park. The site, which opened on November 5, 2026, is dedicated to pharmaceutical supply chains and aims to support major French and international healthcare companies that manage sensitive, high-value products.

The new logistics hub has been constructed to cater for the pharmaceutical industry’s demanding requirements for product integrity, regulatory compliance, traceability, security and temperature management. Its location in the Bas-Rhin department gives direct access to airport infrastructure, freight operators, airlines, customs and inspection services, allowing shipments to be processed more efficiently and securely within the supply chain.

CEVA, the world’s third-largest contract logistics provider, is touting the new facility as an important addition to its specialized healthcare network in France.

Temperature-controlled infrastructure for sensitive pharmaceutical products

Construction work on the Entzheim site, started in 2025, was designed to meet the operational needs of pharmaceutical manufacturers working with sensitive products, large volumes and strict regulatory obligations.

The building has a floor area of 17,000 sq m and ceiling heights of over 17 meters. It has a temperature controlled active cargo container handling infrastructure, backed by sophisticated inventory management and traceability systems.

There are three special zones for temperature: +15°C to +25°C, +2°C to +8°C and -25°C. The installation can also accommodate ultra-low temperature pharmaceuticals down to -80°C.

This structure allows CEVA to manage different healthcare product categories in accordance with the applicable regulations and Good Distribution Practices (GDP).

Auxiliary equipment is used for the preparation and protection of shipments The facility also boasts an on-site dry ice production system and offers specialized packaging solutions for palletized freight, ensuring products are secured throughout the logistics journey.

Sustainability and security built into new hub

The facility design also considered environmental performance. The CEVA facility is targeting BREEAM Very Good and BiodiverCity certificates to showcase its dedication to improving the environmental performance of its logistics infrastructure.

The building has solar panels on the roof and the renewable electricity generated is used on site to help offset its carbon footprint.

The facility is designed to meet stringent international quality, safety and security requirements in addition to these environmental measures. This includes TAPA FSR B certification and the relevant standards for logistics in healthcare.

These measures are designed to give customers more control over their logistics operations, product security and supply chain risks.

CEVA strengthens its position in the pharmaceutical region of Grand Est

The new center expands CEVA’s existing presence in the Strasbourg-Entzheim business park, where it already has a logistics center of 10,000 square meters.

The selection of a second site reflects the importance of the Grand Est region in the European pharmaceutical and healthcare ecosystem. It is an important area for specialized logistics activities, with major multinational companies, mostly along the Rhine Valley.

The new facility in Entzheim is CEVA’s fourth logistics facility in the Grand Est region, joining two other facilities in Entzheim, one in Sausheim, in Haut-Rhin, and one in Vatry, in Marne.

The company says its network of regional warehouses adds up to 90,000 square meters of space.

At the national level, CEVA has five dedicated French healthcare logistics facilities, covering more than 80,000 square meters, the company said.

Supporting pharmaceutical and healthcare companies globally

The new infrastructure is also in line with CEVA’s wider commitment to the pharmaceutical and healthcare supply chain, where keeping the quality of the product and respecting strict regulatory requirements are essential throughout the transportation and storage operations.

By providing specialized knowledge, obtaining specific certifications, implementing quality management systems, controlling temperatures accurately, and continuously training its staff, the company satisfies the sector's requirements.

CEVA provides services to more than 500 pharmaceutical and healthcare clients around the world and has around 50 logistics sites dedicated to this industry.

The launch of the Entzheim site will allow the logistics provider to further improve its ability to serve international healthcare companies, while expanding its footprint in a major pharmaceutical hub in France.
