Clarios Connected Services has unveiled Battery Manager Pro, a predictive battery management platform designed to help commercial truck fleets reduce maintenance costs and avoid roadside breakdowns.

The new solution was introduced during the Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) Exhibition 2026 in Nashville and represents the company’s latest step toward offering Battery-as-a-Service solutions for the transport sector.

The platform is designed to move fleets away from traditional reactive battery replacement and toward predictive maintenance, allowing operators to identify potential failures before they occur.

According to Clarios, the system can deliver annual savings exceeding $500 per vehicle by eliminating unnecessary jump starts, preventing incorrect alternator diagnostics and ensuring maintenance takes place in controlled workshop environments rather than on the roadside.

Junior Barrett, global director of business development at Clarios, explained that many fleets lack reliable visibility into battery health. As a result, operators often replace batteries too early or wait until a failure strands a vehicle.

Battery Manager Pro addresses this challenge through remote monitoring technology capable of predicting battery failure up to 90 days in advance. This allows fleets to schedule replacements during regular maintenance windows rather than reacting to emergency breakdowns.

The system also monitors alternator and starter performance, enabling technicians to identify the real cause of charging issues. This helps prevent the common mistake of replacing a healthy battery when the problem actually lies with another component.

Clarios estimates that the predictive system can also extend battery life by 30% to 35%, further reducing operational costs.

Under the subscription-based service model, fleets pay a fixed monthly fee, eliminating unexpected repair expenses and reducing disputes related to battery warranties.

Installation is relatively quick, requiring four sensors, a wiring harness and a gateway per vehicle, with an average installation time of 30 to 35 minutes.

The system is compatible with batteries from any manufacturer currently installed in a vehicle. Fleets can gradually transition to Clarios batteries as existing units reach the end of their operational life.

Battery Manager Pro forms part of the broader Clarios Connected Services ecosystem, which also includes technologies such as IdleLess, Battery Manager and Trailer Battery Manager, all operating on a shared IoT infrastructure and cloud-based analytics platform.

Clarios expects to sign its first commercial customer for the new service within the coming weeks.
