Tragedy unfolded in Baltimore, USA, this morning as the Singapore-flagged container ship, Dali, collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge. According to ship tracking data, the 300-meter vessel was en route to Colombo, Sri Lanka, when the incident occurred.
Marine radar data shows the Dali departing the Port Breeze terminal at around 12:45 am ET (4:45 am GMT). However, its journey took a horrific turn as it inexplicably veered towards the bridge and came to a halt at the collision site 45 minutes later.
Authorities are responding to a large-scale emergency. Air traffic control reports reveal police helicopters circling the disaster zone repeatedly. The Baltimore City Fire Department confirms this bridge collapse as a “mass casualty event.”
