Adidas, the renowned athletic brand, in collaboration with Kuehne+Nagel, the global logistics leader based in Switzerland, have embarked on a strategic alliance to establish a state-of-the-art omnichannel logistics hub in Mantua, Italy.
This cutting-edge facility, sprawling over 130,000 square meters, will stand as Kuehne+Nagel’s most ambitious zero-emission order fulfillment center to date.
Scheduled to commence operations in 2024, the hub is expected to generate approximately 700 new employment opportunities. It will primarily serve Adidas’ flagship stores, wholesale partners, and direct-to-consumer sales across 19 nations in Southern and Eastern Europe.
Designed to efficiently process e-commerce orders, the hub is equipped to handle up to 375,000 parcels daily during peak seasons and can process up to 18,000 parcels hourly with its advanced technological infrastructure, expert management, and proficient warehouse staff.
The facility is uniquely designed to manage the variable order volumes characteristic of Adidas’ B2B, B2C, and Click&Collect channels, alongside typical seasonal demands.
Fulfilling Adidas’ commitment to swift and agile delivery for its customers, the hub also adheres to stringent zero-carbon operation standards.
Powered entirely by renewable energy sources, the logistics center not only emphasizes the use of eco-friendly processes and materials for packaging but also encourages its roughly 700 staff members to opt for sustainable transportation alternatives.
