ECS Group has appointed Eric St Amand as Chief Operating Officer Americas, giving him responsibility for the group’s operations across North America, Latin America and the Caribbean.
The appointment comes as ECS Group continues to develop its presence across the Americas and adapts its operations to changing airline requirements and evolving air cargo markets.
St Amand brings more than 27 years of international experience in supply chain management, transportation and logistics. His career includes senior leadership positions at Geodis and IBM, with experience spanning operational management, profit and loss responsibility, commercial development and business transformation.
Before joining ECS Group, St Amand served as Americas Vice President and President of Geodis Supply Chain Optimization in the United States. He has also managed complex growth programmes across the Americas, Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Strengthening ECS Group’s regional operations
In his new role, St Amand will work with ECS Group’s regional teams, airline partners and commercial network to improve operational performance and identify new growth opportunities.
Jean Ceccaldi, CEO of ECS Group, said the appointment strengthens the company’s leadership structure in a region offering significant opportunities for both ECS Group and its airline customers.
St Amand said his priorities will include supporting airline partners, strengthening operational performance and developing the next phase of regional growth.
His international background is expected to support ECS Group’s strategy of combining local market expertise with the resources and capabilities of a global organisation.
St Amand is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he also served as a Logistics Officer in the US Army. He later completed executive education programmes at ESCP Europe and Harvard Business School.
Paco Ortega moves towards strategic projects
The leadership change will also see Paco Ortega transition into a broader strategic role within ECS Group.
Based in Miami, Ortega will work alongside St Amand during the coming month to ensure a smooth handover. He will then focus more heavily on strategic projects across the Americas and the wider group.
Ortega has served as Regional Manager for the past two years, combining the responsibilities of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Commercial Officer during an important period of development for ECS Group in the region.
Ceccaldi thanked Ortega for his leadership and said his regional knowledge, customer relationships and management experience would continue to benefit the organisation.
With St Amand taking charge of regional operations and Ortega moving towards strategic initiatives, ECS Group aims to reinforce its position in the Americas while supporting the changing needs of airlines and cargo customers.
