Fraport has officially inaugurated Terminal 3 at Frankfurt Airport, completing the largest infrastructure project in the company’s history.
The new terminal, built at a cost of approximately €4 billion, will initially handle up to 19 million passengers annually, with potential expansion to 25 million in a later phase.
Operations begin on April 23, with 57 airlines relocating to the new facility in phases through June.
Designed with a focus on efficiency and passenger experience, Terminal 3 features automated check-in systems, advanced security screening technology, and a wide range of retail and dining options.
Fraport said the project was completed on time and on budget, despite challenges including the Covid-19 pandemic and global supply chain disruptions.
