Incat Crowther has been selected to design a fleet of 10 crew transfer vessels (CTVs) commissioned by Singapore-based Fast Offshore Supply for operations supporting Shell offshore Brunei.

The new vessels are designed to transport up to 80 passengers and carry a payload of around 150 tonnes, while reaching speeds of up to 30 knots. Construction will take place across multiple shipyards in the region, including Fast Offshore Supply’s own facility in Singapore.

According to Ed Dudson, the multi-yard construction strategy is intended to accelerate delivery timelines while maintaining design consistency across the entire fleet.

“Constructing this fleet across multiple shipyards will enable rapid deployment of the new vessels. Each shipyard receives an identical, highly detailed digital package containing everything required for construction,” he said.

Each vessel will be equipped with an SMST motion-compensated gangway system to enable safe personnel transfers directly to offshore infrastructure. In addition, the design includes a 200 sq m cargo deck capable of transporting equipment and supplies to Shell’s offshore assets.

The first vessels in the series are expected to enter operational service in early 2027, marking a new phase in Fast Offshore Supply’s expansion of offshore logistics capacity in the region.
