Jeena & Company has appointed Priyank Jain as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) as the logistics group gears up for its next phase of growth, adding an experienced finance executive to its leadership team. Jain will handle the Finance and Accounts function and will lead the entire finance team. He will be based out of the company’s corporate office in Mumbai and will report directly to CEO Prediman K. Koul.

The appointment is part of a broader transformation strategy at the 125-year-old company, which also seeks to maintain the principles which have guided its development for more than a century. Since joining Jeena & Company, Jain has already started working on financial transformation initiatives, focusing on simplifying internal processes and strengthening operational discipline. Priorities include improving efficiency, strengthening accountability and supporting better informed decisions across the organisation.

Over 15 years experience in corporate finance

Jain is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 15 years of professional experience. He has built a career in finance, accounting and strategic management with responsibilities ranging from financial administration to budgeting, cost control, taxation, reporting and financial analysis.

He started his professional career as a Manager at SBS Group. During his time with the company he was responsible for internal audit activities and the finalisation of accounts. He was also very active in mergers and acquisitions, helping to expand the geographical reach of the group. These responsibilities gave him experience in managing financial operations to support overall business development goals.

Jain later joined BDP International and began the development of a structured annual business planning and budgeting framework. He also contributed to building a stronger Management Information System (MIS) culture; thereby helping the organization track its operational and financial performance better.

Prior to joining Jeena & Company, he was with Mahindra Logistics Ltd as Deputy General Manager. In this role, he led many initiatives to improve internal systems and processes, resulting in significant recurring annual cost savings.

He built an integrated finance system to enhance operational efficiency. He also led a revenue assurance effort to enhance the accuracy of revenue forecasts via better data extraction and improved validation processes.

Education and training in financial leadership

Jain is a commerce graduate from Mumbai University. He is a Chartered Accountant with ICAI Mumbai and has a Diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) from United Kingdom.

He has also undergone specialized training by faculty at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad as part of a Finance Leadership Programme.

Laying financial foundations for Jeena’s future

“I am thankful for the trust reposed on me by the partners and CEO of the company,” Jain said of his appointment. He also spoke of the opportunity to help shape an organisation with a 125-year history and be part of its ongoing digital transformation.

His priority, he said, would be to build robust financial structures and processes to support the company’s future growth, without losing the discipline and reliability that have defined Jeena for more than a century. He added he would work closely with the leadership team and finance department to help achieve these goals.

CEO Prediman K. Koul welcomed the appointment and said that Jain will bring to the organisation a combination of financial discipline and practical logistics experience.

Koul also said Jain’s ability to build robust financial structures and enhance financial rigor makes him a great addition to the leadership team as Jeena & Company gears up for expansion of its operations. The CEO also pointed out that these capabilities will be particularly useful as the business enters the next stage of its development.

The appointment is part of Jeena & Company’s efforts to improve its financial management as it seeks to combine its strong legacy with more efficient systems, greater accountability and continued organisational growth.
