In Manila, container activity increased during 2025. The Manila International Container Terminal, known as MICT, passed the level of 3 million TEUs during the year. The terminal is operated by ICTSI. This volume had not been reached before at this site.
The container that marked this level was handled at the end of December. Activity remained high during the last weeks of the year. Several vessels were processed during this period.
MICT has continued to add equipment and upgrade its facilities. These actions are part of regular terminal development. Handling systems and port installations have been adjusted over time. A new berth project is also part of the current works.
The terminal is receiving more containers each year. Operations are organized to manage higher numbers. Ship calls continue without interruption. Larger vessels are also expected in the future.
Higher terminal activity affects cargo movement. Container flows move with fewer interruptions. Planning becomes easier for operators using the terminal. Port installations play a direct role in how goods move through the supply chain.
