Logistics technology company Nuvocargo has introduced a new artificial intelligence platform designed to automate large parts of truckload freight operations across North America.

The platform, called Nuvo AI, is described by the company as an AI-native freight execution engine built specifically for manufacturers, retailers and distributors managing high volumes of truckload shipments.

Founded in 2019, Nuvocargo operates as an integrated logistics platform offering 3PL, 4PL, freight brokerage, customs brokerage and managed transportation services focused on trade between the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Chief executive Deepak Chhugani said the launch represents the company’s most significant product development to date and reflects years of building operational logistics software.

Unlike many AI logistics startups that focus primarily on freight brokers, Nuvocargo is targeting shippers directly, enabling them to manage complex supply chains without relying on multiple software platforms.

At the heart of the system is NuvoOS, the company’s proprietary transportation management system rebuilt to operate alongside AI agents capable of automating large portions of the freight lifecycle.

More than 12 AI agents can perform tasks such as scheduling appointments, negotiating carrier rates, processing freight documentation and auditing invoices.

According to Nuvocargo, the agents can manage over 70% of operational touchpoints involved in a shipment, significantly reducing manual workload for logistics teams.

The platform integrates directly with enterprise resource planning systems, allowing it to ingest purchase orders, build loads, schedule pick-ups, negotiate freight rates through voice or email interactions and track shipments using GPS data.

However, the company stresses that the system is intentionally designed as a hybrid model, combining automation with human supervision.

Freight specialists remain responsible for monitoring AI activity, managing complex logistics scenarios and resolving exceptions that automation cannot handle.

Chhugani said the platform could reduce freight costs by 7% to 20%, depending on how much of a shipper’s network is managed through the system.

Savings are expected to come from three main areas: automation of manual work, consolidation of supply chain software tools and improved carrier procurement strategies.

Nuvo AI also integrates with Nuvocargo’s carrier marketplace, which includes more than 300,000 carriers, while allowing shippers to continue working with their existing brokers and transportation partners.

Since its founding, Nuvocargo’s operations team has already managed more than 100,000 shipments, including domestic freight and cross-border transport across North America.
