In this context, Qatar Airways Cargo is expanding its TechLift offering with two new container solutions from VRR.
The carrier has added VRR’s 16-foot RZY and 20-foot RGX containers to its portfolio, focusing on the transportation of advanced capital equipment used in the semiconductor industry.
This is part of a wider drive by Qatar Airways Cargo to offer specialized logistics solutions for cargo that needs more than standard air-freight handling.
Semiconductors based on equipment
The RZY and RGX containers are designed to protect semiconductor fabrication equipment and related machinery during all phases of transportation.
Both models are equipped with sophisticated climate-control systems to provide appropriate environmental conditions during transportation.
They also have enhanced shock-absorption technology, providing another layer of protection against the physical stresses of cargo handling and transportation.
The two container types are now fully certified for main deck carriage on Qatar Airways Cargo’s Boeing 777 freighters, enabling the airline to integrate them directly into its freighter network.
A more specialized view of valuable cargo
For semiconductor manufacturers, the safe transport of production equipment is inextricably linked to maintaining the continuity of manufacturing.
