Talma is expanding its airline customer base in Peru after being selected to support Azul Linhas Aéreas’ operations at the new Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima.

The agreement marks another step in Talma’s commercial expansion and strengthens its position as a ground and cargo handling partner for international airlines entering or expanding their operations in the Peruvian market.

Azul’s new operation provides a weekly connection between Manaus, Brazil, and Lima. Talma will support the service through a combination of ramp and cargo handling activities, covering the aircraft’s turnaround from arrival through to departure as well as the management of import and export shipments.

Its cargo services include specialised handling for perishable products, high-value goods and temperature-controlled shipments. These activities are supported by modern infrastructure, refrigerated warehouses and specialised equipment designed to meet safety, quality and efficiency requirements.

Edgardo Carbonel, General Manager of Talma Peru, said the company was pleased to welcome Azul Linhas Aéreas to its international airline portfolio and to support the operation from its launch in Peru.

He added that Azul’s confidence in Talma’s operational capabilities reinforces the company’s role as a strategic partner for developing new air connections and supporting the expansion of aviation operations in the country.

For Azul, the new Manaus–Lima service adds another cargo connection between Brazil and Peru and creates an additional option for trade and logistics flows between the two markets.

The connection also strengthens Azul’s presence across South America, while giving businesses another air freight link between the Brazilian region of Amazonas and the Peruvian capital.

For Talma, the agreement further consolidates its position in Peru’s cargo and ground handling market. The company is continuing to strengthen its capabilities as international airlines expand their networks and demand for specialised air transport services evolves.

The new Azul operation therefore adds both a new airline customer and another international cargo route to Talma’s growing operations at Lima’s new airport.
