Odfjell Technology has signed a three-year platform drilling contract with oil and gas company EnQuest for operations on the Magnus platform in the UK.
The contract is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026 and includes two one-year extension options.
“Odfjell Technology previously operated under a drilling contract on the Magnus platform in 2018, and we are very pleased to return,” said Kurt Meinert Fjell, executive vice president for operations.
The Magnus oil field is located in the northern North Sea, around 160 km northeast of the Shetland Islands.
The Magnus platform is an integrated drilling and production facility. Fluids from the wells are processed through two separate trains, with maximum continuous crude oil capacity of 85,400 barrels per day, gas export capacity of 110m cu ft per day and produced water handling capacity of 240,000 barrels per day.
Oil is exported to Ninian Central and then to the Sullom Voe terminal, while gas is exported to the St Fergus terminal.
