Qatar Airways Cargo is continuing to expand its global footprint as Qatar Airways enhances its passenger network and increases frequencies across multiple regions. The latest developments include new passenger destinations, strategic route resumptions, and capacity upgrades that significantly boost belly-hold cargo availability alongside the airline’s dedicated freighter operations.
Among the headline changes, the airline will launch new passenger services to Caracas, Venezuela, and Bogotá, Colombia, starting 22 July 2026. It is also relaunching flights to Helsinki on 15 July 2026 and Tokyo Haneda on 16 July 2026, with further frequency increases across the wider network beginning in May.
These additions reinforce Qatar Airways Cargo’s ability to combine scheduled freighter capacity with extensive belly-hold space on passenger aircraft, supporting growing global demand and strengthening connectivity across major trade corridors. Hamad International Airport, the airline’s hub in Doha, continues to play a central role as a global transit point linking East and West.
Americas
In the Americas, the network sees both new destinations and capacity increases. Caracas (via Bogotá) will be served twice weekly, offering around 20 tonnes of belly-hold capacity per week each way. Dallas increases to 10 weekly flights, while Houston rises to 5 weekly passenger services and benefits from 2 freighter flights, bringing total weekly capacity to 228 tonnes per direction. New York grows to 14 weekly flights, and São Paulo also increases to 14 weekly passenger flights, supplemented by 4 freighter services providing 400 tonnes of additional capacity per week.
Asia
Asia sees some of the most significant capacity expansions. Hong Kong rises to 14 weekly passenger flights, supported by 42 weekly freighter services, delivering over 4,400 tonnes per week each way. Shanghai increases to 10 weekly passenger flights plus 8 freighter rotations, while Dhaka, Kathmandu and Kuala Lumpur also see notable frequency increases. Tokyo Haneda returns to the network on 16 July with 4 weekly flights, increasing to 7 weekly flights from 1 August, with belly-hold capacity rising from 60 to 105 tonnes.
Europe
In Europe, Helsinki is reinstated on 15 July with 4 weekly flights, increasing to 7 weekly services from 1 August. Istanbul, Vienna and Warsaw all see significant increases in both passenger and freighter operations, with Istanbul alone offering a combined 390 tonnes of weekly freighter capacity when including dedicated cargo services.
Middle East & Africa
In the Middle East, Amman, Beirut and Dammam all see frequency increases, while Baghdad and Basra are being relaunched with wide-body operations. In Africa, Addis Ababa is upgraded to Boeing 777 passenger services, and Tunis increases to 10 weekly flights, improving regional cargo capacity and reliability.
Across the entire network, Qatar Airways Cargo continues to integrate its Digital Lounge e-booking platform with local sales teams to ensure full access to available capacity. All cargo products remain available across these routes, supporting global customers with expanded connectivity, increased flexibility, and enhanced trade flows.
