Baker Hughes has extended its agreement with Equinor through two further contract extensions for integrated drilling and well services, as well as wireline intervention operations, cementing the long-term partnership between the companies on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
Under the renewed integrated drilling and well services agreement, Baker Hughes will provide a broad portfolio of technologies and solutions supporting both mature offshore assets and new greenfield developments.
The company will deploy capabilities from its Well Construction and Completions, Intervention and Measurement divisions to assist Equinor in optimising offshore resource development and improving operational efficiency across multiple projects.
Among the advanced technologies included in the contract are the Kantori autonomous well-construction solution and the TRU-ARMS advanced reservoir-mapping service. These systems are designed to improve drilling precision, accelerate well development and support more efficient offshore resource extraction.
In parallel, Baker Hughes also secured an extension for its wireline intervention services contract, under which the company will provide fully integrated intervention solutions aimed at extending the lifespan and performance of offshore wells in the North Sea.
The intervention package combines Baker Hughes’ surface and downhole technologies with complementary systems supplied by service partners, creating a broader integrated offering focused on production optimisation and operational reliability.
The renewed agreement will also expand the deployment of Baker Hughes’ PRIME Technology Platform across Equinor’s offshore activities. The platform is designed to support enhanced production performance while contributing to emissions reduction objectives throughout the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
The latest extensions underline the increasing importance of digitalisation, automation and integrated service models within offshore energy operations, particularly as operators seek to maximise efficiency and extend the productivity of existing assets.
Earlier this week, Baker Hughes also announced another major contract extension with Petrobras in Brazil, where the company will continue providing integrated well-construction solutions for developments in the Santos Basin.
