Canadian design firms mcCallumSather and Watson MacEwen Teramura Architects (WMTA) have announced a new strategic partnership aimed at combining their expertise and expanding opportunities for projects across the country.
The two firms have worked together on a number of projects over the years, and say the formal partnership builds on an already established working relationship based on trust and shared design values.
By joining forces, the companies will be able to offer a broader range of services, combining expertise in architecture, engineering, heritage conservation, laboratory design and other specialised technical fields.
The partnership is also expected to strengthen their regional footprint, particularly in the Ottawa area, while supporting work on increasingly complex projects across Canada.
Drew Hauser, director at mcCallumSather, said the agreement reflects years of successful collaboration and creates new opportunities for both teams to learn from one another while continuing to deliver client-focused projects.
WMTA principals Allan Teramura and Rick MacEwen said the two firms have always shared a similar approach to design, collaboration and client relationships, making the partnership a natural next step.
Both companies stressed that the agreement will not affect existing project teams or the way projects are delivered, with clients continuing to work with the same teams they do today.
