CEVA Logistics has renewed its partnership with global biopharmaceutical company GSK for another five years, continuing the management of the company’s pharmaceutical distribution centre in Robakowo, near Poznań, Poland.
The facility plays a central role in GSK’s supply chain across Northern and Central Europe, supplying medicines and vaccines to 13 countries while supporting fast and reliable healthcare distribution.
CEVA has been operating the Robakowo site since 2012. During that time, the company has continuously improved warehouse operations through process optimisation, strategic investments and regular audits. The facility is fully certified under ISO 9001:2015 standards.
The Robakowo warehouse is one of four European distribution centres managed by CEVA for GSK, alongside facilities in France, Italy and Spain. Together, the four sites distribute around 32 million units of pharmaceutical products, over-the-counter medicines and vaccines every month, while also handling urgent deliveries across 39 European markets.
Each month, the Polish facility processes more than 2,900 inbound orders and over 51,000 outbound orders. The warehouse covers more than 9,830 square metres and offers storage capacity for 12,000 pallet positions.
It is a pharmaceutical logistics specific site with temperature controlled storage areas (2 degrees C to 8 degrees C and 15 degrees C to 25 degrees C), dedicated cold storage, a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) area and a repackaging area.
CEVA manages the entire warehousing and distribution process from receiving shipments to preparing orders, packing and repacking, quality checking and managing returns. The entire process is performed in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards, and supported by dedicated quality and compliance teams.
The facility includes a warehouse management system specific to the health care industry and features state-of-the-art automation technologies to enhance efficiency. These include automated bundling equipment, systems for printing and scanning FMD/GMP codes, and collaborative robots used for repalletising and pick-and-place operations.
The distribution centre also incorporates several sustainability initiatives, including energy optimisation systems, digital workflows that reduce paper consumption, and intelligent LED and DALI lighting technologies designed to lower energy use.
Jean-Romain Plault, Contract Logistics Director for Eastern Europe at CEVA Logistics, said the contract extension reflects GSK’s confidence in the company’s expertise in pharmaceutical logistics. He added that CEVA will continue investing in efficient and reliable supply chain solutions to ensure patients across Europe receive medicines and vaccines as quickly and safely as possible.
