Oman Air is marking 25 years of operations between Muscat and Kochi, celebrating a route that has helped strengthen passenger, commercial and cultural connections between Oman and India’s Kerala state.

The national airline of the Sultanate of Oman launched the Muscat-Kochi service in 2001. Over the past quarter century, the route has carried thousands of passengers, supporting family travel while facilitating business and trade links between the two countries.

The connection remains one of Oman Air’s strongest-performing routes, with the airline operating up to 14 flights per week.

Ahmed Al Mahrouqi, Vice President Global Sales at Oman Air, said the anniversary reflects the long-standing relationship between Oman and Kerala as well as the broader ties between Oman and India.

“Celebrating 25 years of flying to Kochi is a significant milestone for Oman Air and one that reflects the strength and longevity of the relationship between Oman and Kerala, and more broadly, India,” he said.

Al Mahrouqi added that the airline remains focused on strengthening connectivity between the two countries while maintaining the travel experience expected by its passengers.

India remains a key market

Kochi is part of Oman Air’s wider Indian network, with India continuing to play an important role within the airline’s global network of 49 destinations.

The carrier’s Muscat-Mumbai route also reached a major milestone in 2025, celebrating 30 years of service.

Oman Air continues to offer passengers convenient flight schedules, its award-winning service and its distinctive Omani hospitality across its Indian operations.

Anniversary promotion for Indian travellers

To mark the Kochi milestone, Oman Air is also launching a special promotion for travellers departing from India.

Passengers can receive discounts of up to 25% on Business Class fares and up to 10% on Economy Class fares when travelling to selected destinations across the airline’s network.

The promotional offer is available until August 28, 2026, through the Oman Air website and mobile application.

The 25-year milestone highlights the continued importance of the Muscat-Kochi connection as Oman Air seeks to maintain and expand links between Oman and one of India’s most important regional markets.
