Messe Berlin and NürnbergMesse are joining forces to launch FRUIT LOGISTICA Connect India in Mumbai in 2028, creating a new international business platform for India’s fresh produce industry.
The new exhibition format, developed under the globally recognised FRUIT LOGISTICA brand, will take place alongside BIOFACH INDIA from May 25 to 27, 2028, at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.
The partnership brings together two major international exhibition brands representing the fresh produce and organic food sectors. While the two events will share a venue and create opportunities for cross-sector business, each will retain its own identity, positioning and market focus.
The announcement was made on September 1, 2026, when Satyendra Mehra, Group Director and Member of the Management Board at NürnbergMesse India, and Katrina Leung, Managing Director and Vice President Asia Pacific at Messe Berlin, signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Mumbai.
The collaboration is designed to strengthen connections between India’s food industries and international markets, giving exhibitors and buyers access to complementary business communities and wider commercial networks.
A new platform for India’s fresh produce sector
FRUIT LOGISTICA Connect India will introduce the FRUIT LOGISTICA brand to the Indian market through a dedicated platform focused on the country’s fresh fruit and vegetable industry.
The exhibition will bring together stakeholders from across the fresh produce value chain, including growers, exporters, importers, wholesalers, retailers, logistics providers, technology companies and solution providers.
Its launch comes as India continues to develop its role in international food trade, with the event expected to create new opportunities around market access, supply chains, logistics, technology and international business relationships.
At the same time, BIOFACH INDIA, part of the global BIOFACH exhibition network, has established itself as one of India’s leading trade fairs for the organic sector. The Mumbai event represents the next phase of the brand’s growth strategy and expands its presence into one of the country’s most important commercial and food-trading hubs.
Connecting fresh produce and organic food
The decision to co-locate the two exhibitions reflects the growing links between the fresh produce and organic food industries.
Both sectors are increasingly connected through areas such as sustainable production, international trade, supply chain development, logistics, retail, innovation and technology.
By bringing the industries together in Mumbai, Messe Berlin and NürnbergMesse aim to provide exhibitors and buyers with broader access to potential business partners, new markets and cross-sector opportunities.
The partnership also reflects the long-term commitment of both organisers to supporting the development and internationalisation of India’s fresh produce and organic food industries.
Messe Berlin and NürnbergMesse highlight international opportunities
Sonia Prashar, Chairperson of the Board and Managing Director of NürnbergMesse India, said the partnership could strengthen links between Indian industries and international markets while creating additional value for exhibitors and buyers across both events.
“Our partnership with Messe Berlin reflects a shared vision of bringing together two globally recognized exhibition brands in a way that creates new business opportunities for our customers,” she said.
Prashar added that the organisers are confident that the co-location of BIOFACH INDIA and FRUIT LOGISTICA Connect India will further support the growth of India’s organic food and fresh produce sectors.
Katrina Leung, Managing Director and Vice President Asia Pacific at Messe Berlin, also underlined the strategic importance of combining the international reach of the two exhibition brands without compromising their individual identities.
“The co-location of FRUIT LOGISTICA Connect India and BIOFACH INDIA will create new opportunities for exhibitors, buyers and industry stakeholders while preserving the unique identity of each event,” Leung said.
She added that Messe Berlin looks forward to strengthening international business connections and supporting the long-term development of both industries together with NürnbergMesse.
A new meeting point for two complementary industries
With FRUIT LOGISTICA Connect India joining BIOFACH INDIA in Mumbai, the partnership will create a new meeting point for two closely connected sectors in one of Asia’s most dynamic markets.
The co-located events are expected to provide a broader platform for business, industry exchange and international growth, while connecting Indian companies with buyers, exporters, logistics specialists, technology providers and other stakeholders from international markets.
The first edition of FRUIT LOGISTICA Connect India will take place at the Jio World Convention Centre from May 25–27, 2028, alongside BIOFACH INDIA.
