Awery Aviation Software (Awery) has appointed air cargo industry specialist Cornelia Korsch as Global Development Director for both the company and CargoBooking, its digital quoting and booking platform.
Korsch will be responsible for expanding airline capacity available through CargoBooking while also supporting the platform’s adoption among freight forwarders across international markets.
With more than 30 years of experience in air freight, Korsch brings a broad background spanning airline sales, logistics technology and commercial development. Her career includes senior partnership roles at WebCargo by Freightos and AirBridgeCargo Airlines, as well as more than two decades with Cargolux Airlines.
Speaking about her appointment, Korsch pointed to the role of technology in improving the connection between airlines and freight forwarders. She highlighted CargoBooking’s AI-driven capabilities and its focus on simplifying the booking process.
“CargoBooking combines smart, AI-powered tools with a simple and efficient booking experience, making it easier for airlines to put their capacity in front of forwarders and for forwarders to find and book the capacity they need.”
Korsch added that she intends to draw on her experience in both airline operations and logistics technology to help the sector reach more customers and make greater use of digital distribution.
For Awery, her arrival comes at an important stage in the company’s international expansion. Vitaly Smilianets, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Awery, said Korsch’s understanding of airline requirements would be particularly valuable as the company seeks to bring more carriers onto CargoBooking.
“Cornelia understands what airlines need from a digital booking platform, and that insight will be invaluable as we bring more carriers onto CargoBooking, giving forwarders greater choice and access to more capacity,” Smilianets said.
The appointment follows Awery’s recent decision to bring Gianluca Marcangelo into the executive team as Executive Vice President of Global Sales. Together, the appointments strengthen the company’s leadership structure as it accelerates its global expansion.
Smilianets and Marcangelo will also represent Awery at the EU Cross Border E-commerce Forum in Liège, Belgium, which is scheduled to take place from 8–10 September 2026.
