TORONTO – Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) has appointed Patrick McManus as its incoming president and CEO, with the new chief executive set to take up the position on Oct. 13.
McManus currently serves as executive director of the Ontario Sewer and Watermain Construction Association and the Greater Toronto Sewer and Watermain Contractors’ Association. He brings extensive experience in association leadership, having worked with manufacturers, distributors and contractors across advocacy, government relations, labour relations and stakeholder engagement, according to EFC.

“Patrick brings the leadership experience, collaborative approach and strategic perspective needed to represent EFC’s diverse membership and guide the association into its next chapter,” said Catherine McKeown, chair of EFC’s board of directors, in a statement.
His appointment comes after an extensive search conducted by a committee representing each of EFC’s membership categories, with the process supported by global executive search firm Boyden.
“I am honoured to join EFC and to have the opportunity to represent a membership that is playing such an important role in Canada’s economic growth and electrified future,” said McManus.
“What excites me most about this opportunity is the chance to get to know the members, understand their priorities, and work closely with the board and staff to build on the strong foundation this organization has established.”
McManus will succeed Carol McGlogan, who is retiring after 10 years with the association. She will remain with EFC through the end of 2026 to help ensure a smooth leadership transition.
Reflecting on the selection process, McGlogan said she was impressed by McManus’s thoughtful questions, willingness to learn and genuine interest in EFC and its team.

EFC is a national not-for-profit association representing more than 230 member companies across Canada’s electrical and automation industries. Its membership includes manufacturers, distributors and manufacturers’ representatives.
