Air cargo gets bigger platform at transport logistic 2027
The international air freight industry is gearing up for a bigger get-together at air cargo Europe 2027 as increasing demand for exhibition space fuels the event’s growth at Messe München in Germany. The exhibition, which will be part of transport logistic, will see key players from across the global logistics and supply chain sectors come together from April 26 to 29, 2027.
The expansion comes as demand for air freight continues to grow. Global demand for air cargo, measured in cargo tonne-kilometers, rose 4.4% year-on-year in August 2026, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) said. Against this backdrop, air cargo Europe will offer a dedicated platform for companies active in air freight and for companies that work in other modes of transport.
This will be the first time that the event will fill two full exhibition halls, some 22,000 square meters. This represents an increase of over 7% on the previous edition and reflects the growing interest in the international air cargo market.
Major airlines and cargo networks confirm attendance
Exhibition space is in demand with over 240 companies already confirmed to participate around six months before the event opens. Both conference forums will be moved to adjacent halls to make room for exhibitors and to create additional space in the two halls that will be used for air cargo Europe.
Expected to return are major international carriers, including Qatar Airways Cargo, Emirates SkyCargo, Etihad Cargo, Saudia Cargo, Delta Cargo and Cathay Cargo. Their presence confirms the event’s status as a meeting place for leading airlines, airports, air cargo service providers, shippers and logistics companies.
Organizers also noted a rise in exhibitors from China, indicating the increasing interest in the event among companies from the country. In the coming months more bookings are anticipated, and more announcements will be heard from companies participating in joint stands.
Dr Robert Schönberger, Global Industry Lead for transport logistic Exhibitions, welcomed the strong interim result and said: “Statements from leading industry players confirm the importance of air cargo Europe. The event is a part of transport logistic and offers the air freight sector the chance to develop business relations and to intensify cooperation with partners along the entire supply chain.
A bigger logistics environment for the entire supply chain
The growth of air cargo Europe is also a reflection of its integration into the wider transport logistic exhibition which covers logistics, mobility, information technology and supply chain management.
The Munich trade fair unites companies active in road, rail, maritime and air transport with providers of IT solutions, telematics and intralogistics services. This wider environment allows the air freight experts to interact with companies from other transport sectors and consider possibilities of cooperation.
The exhibition aims to bring these different activities together, to facilitate exchanges between airlines, airports, freight forwarders, shippers and other supply chain stakeholders.
New conference space to address emerging industry challenges
Air cargo Europe 2027 will also introduce a new location for its accompanying conference program. The sessions will move to conference rooms on the first floor of Hall A1, providing additional space for detailed expert discussions and more focused exchanges among air freight professionals.
The conference will be open to all visitors attending transport logistic, allowing participants from across the logistics industry to take part in discussions on the challenges and developments shaping air cargo.
Under the theme “From Cargo to Code,” the program will address several key topics, including artificial intelligence, clean technology in aviation, automation and resilience.
The new conference arrangement is designed to encourage knowledge sharing and professional debate while giving industry participants greater opportunities to examine technological developments and operational priorities affecting the future of air freight.
With additional exhibition space, participation from major international carriers and a dedicated conference environment, air cargo Europe 2027 is preparing to strengthen its role within the global logistics industry. The event will bring together businesses across the air freight ecosystem while encouraging closer connections with the wider supply chain.
