Blue Dart Express Limited is strengthening its footprint in India’s international e-commerce segment with the introduction of International Parcel Connect, a business-to-consumer (B2C) parcel shipping service that will help in enabling cross-border shipments into the United States. The service was launched in Mumbai on 26 October 2026 and is now available for eligible shipments from India to the US. It is aimed at online retailers, direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands, marketplace sellers, small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and emerging exporters seeking reliable access to international buyers.
The launch comes as Indian companies look to expand beyond the domestic market and tap into a growing international customer base. Blue Dart, the leader in express air and integrated transportation and distribution services in South Asia, is offering the new service as an alternative for customers who want something other than the standard choice of either expensive express shipments or cheaper, slower, less transparent postal options.
A flexible shipping option for Indian exporters
Powered by DHL eCommerce, International Parcel Connect integrates Blue Dart’s domestic delivery capabilities and customer support infrastructure in India with an established international parcel network. The service offers two delivery speeds: Standard and Expedited. This allows businesses to select the shipping option that suits their requirements and budget. It also offers visibility to the shipment throughout the delivery journey.
Balfour Manuel, Managing Director, Blue Dart, said, “Blue Dart’s new service is to address the needs of customers who want to leverage the company’s high standards of service domestically into their international shipping requirements.
“For years, we have had customers asking us to extend Blue Dart’s trusted service to their international shipping needs. That call is answered with International Parcel Connect, a world class solution leveraging our strengths in India and the reach of our international network. “We are committed to providing dependable logistics links that help convert the global ambitions of Indian companies into growth as they look beyond the home markets for opportunities,” he said.
Parcel weight: 50g-11kg.
The service is offered on eligible B2C shipments between 50 grams and 11 kilogrammes. It includes a wide range of product categories typically traded on international e-commerce portals such as apparel and fashion products, automotive spare parts, books, handicrafts, imitation jewelry and rugs. Also other eligible products sold through e-commerce businesses and market places may be shipped.
All shipments must comply with the applicable customs and regulatory requirements and the service conditions relating to the type of goods, shipment weight and parcel dimensions.
India B2C e-commerce exports worth $~2 billion
Blue Dart sees a lot of potential in cross border online retail to grow. The company’s Chief Commercial Officer Dipanjan Banerjee said that India’s B2C e-commerce exports are estimated at about $2 billion, adding that it is an opportunity for businesses to look for customers in overseas markets.
He said exporters were often forced to choose between high prices for express delivery and low prices for postal shipping. International Parcel Connect will seek to bridge this gap with two delivery speeds, tracking of shipments and customer support through Blue Dart’s operations in India.
“These features provide businesses with more control over their shipments and a local point of contact, making it easier to manage international parcel shipping,” said Banerjee.
“India’s B2C e-commerce exports are currently pegged at around $2 billion, which is a reflection of the opportunity for Indian businesses to reach overseas customers. “Many sellers have been forced to choose between express delivery at a premium price or postal shipping at a lower price. International Parcel Connect fills that gap, offering customers a choice of two delivery speeds to suit their needs. He explained, “It makes cross-border shipping easier to manage and access as we have more control and a local contact for Blue Dart customer support and shipment visibility in India.
Plans for expansion are not limited to the United States
The first phase of rollout includes shipment from India to the US and Blue Dart will gradually expand International Parcel Connect into more international markets. The company has named the United Kingdom, European Union countries, Canada and Australia as planned future destinations.
The planned expansion is aimed at helping Indian e-commerce firms to grow their international footprint and serve consumers in more markets.
Blue Dart leverages DHL Group’s global logistics network
The new service sees Blue Dart further consolidating its position in the logistics sector by connecting its domestic infrastructure with the broader international capabilities provided by the DHL Group. Blue Dart, a part of the group’s DHL eCommerce division, has a logistics network that spans over 220 countries and territories.
The company offers safe and dependable delivery services to over 56,400 locations in India. This domestic reach, combined with its international network access, is the backbone of the launch of International Parcel Connect and its first focus on helping Indian sellers ship eligible products to customers in the US.
Blue Dart is developing the service and its planned expansion into further markets could give Indian businesses more ways to reach overseas consumers via cross-border e-commerce.
