CTP Completes Tesco’s 100,000 sqm Logistics Centre in Hungary

CTP, Europe’s largest listed developer and manager of industrial and logistics properties, has completed a state-of-the-art 100,000 square meter logistics center for Tesco in Hungary. Located near Szigetszentmiklós, this facility is set to enhance Tesco’s distribution efficiency across the nation.

Facility Features

The nearly one-kilometer-long complex includes:

  • Two cold storage halls with adjustable temperatures.
  • A dry goods hall.
  • A truck wash with a water recycling system.
  • Vehicle repair and forklift service areas.
  • A gas station and electric vehicle charging stations.

Sustainability Initiatives

Emphasizing environmental responsibility, the center is powered by renewable energy, featuring 8,620 solar panels with a total capacity of 3.75 MW.

Operational Timeline

The facility is scheduled to commence full operations, serving Tesco stores nationwide, in March 2025.

Leadership Perspectives

Zsolt Pálinkás, CEO of Tesco Hungary, stated, “This environmentally conscious logistics center, equipped with the most modern technologies, prepares us to meet new demands while advancing toward carbon neutrality by 2035.”

Dr. Ferenc Gondi, Managing Director of CTP Hungary, added, “The construction of Tesco’s domestic logistics center in Szigetszentmiklós is a prominent milestone in CTP’s history in Hungary.”
