The air cargo industry in South America is set for a major transformation as ECS Group, a global leader in Total Cargo Management (TCM), has signed a groundbreaking four-year partnership with JetSMART Airlines. This collaboration marks the first TCM contract in South America with a regional airline, further solidifying ECS Group’s presence in the global market.

Expanding Operations Across South America

Effective January 1, 2025, the partnership covers JetSMART’s operations across Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Argentina. JetSMART, a prominent low-cost carrier and part of the Indigo Partners group, operates an extensive fleet of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, with nearly 25,000 flights annually. This agreement is poised to unlock significant cargo potential, both domestically and internationally, for the airline.

Innovative Total Cargo Management Solutions

Under this contract, ECS Group will assume responsibility for JetSMART’s cargo operations. To ensure efficiency, ECS Group will deploy dedicated commercial and operational teams in each country, all coordinated through a centralized control tower in San José, Costa Rica.

Moreover, the collaboration introduces advanced digital tools through ECS Group’s partnership with CargoTech. These tools will enable seamless eBooking, dynamic capacity management, and optimized revenue generation, setting a new standard for cargo operations in the region.

A Strategic Step for JetSMART Airlines

This partnership allows JetSMART to focus on high-demand commodities such as salmon, perishables, minerals, and mail services. By leveraging ECS Group’s expertise, JetSMART is poised to enhance its cargo footprint, connecting South America’s logistics networks with international markets.

A Milestone for ECS Group

For ECS Group, this agreement represents a pivotal achievement as its first TCM contract in South America with a local airline. Adrien Thominet, Executive Chairman of ECS Group, stated, “This partnership is a landmark achievement for ECS Group. Being entrusted by JetSMART Airlines reinforces our reputation as a global leader in Total Cargo Management.”

Strengthening South America’s Cargo Connectivity

This collaboration is expected to boost South America’s air cargo connectivity, ensuring smoother integration with global supply chains. It also positions JetSMART Airlines as a key player in the region’s air cargo industry, meeting the growing demand for sustainable and efficient logistics solutions.
