EFM Global has completed the full end-to-end freight and production logistics operation for the BLAST Premier Open Rotterdam, marking the first live deployment under its newly announced multi-year partnership with esports organiser BLAST.
The event will take place from 27 to 29 March 2026 at the Ahoy Arena in Rotterdam and marks the first time Counter-Strike has been staged live in the Netherlands.
The Rotterdam Open will feature 16 top CS2 teams competing for a share of $1.1 million, with the event expected to attract thousands of spectators on site and millions more watching globally. BLAST said the tournament will be broadcast into more than 100 territories in over 30 official languages. Last year’s edition generated more than 89 million views worldwide.
EFM coordinated seven dedicated freight movements across four countries to deliver the full set, staging and broadcast infrastructure required for the production.
The inbound movements included five 13-metre curtain trailers from Holbaek, Denmark, one 13-metre box trailer from Brondby, Denmark, one overnight long-wheelbase van from Brondby, and one 13-metre box trailer from Malta.
Those shipments delivered all the production equipment needed to convert Ahoy Arena into a live esports venue within a tight installation window.
The technical scale of the event is substantial. EFM moved the complete staging package, including a lighting rig of 338 fixtures, anchored by nearly 200 Robe MegaPointe and Spiider moving heads, together with GLP strobe systems and MDG atmospheric effects.
The inbound operation also carried more than 325 sq m of LED screen capacity, including a 22m x 12m main display representing 264 sq m on its own, plus 15 additional screens used for players, analysts and broadcast positions around the arena.
Marcel Meyer, global vice president of events at EFM Global, said there was no room for error in a live broadcast operation of this scale, especially for a first deployment under the new BLAST partnership.
James Brown, commercial director at BLAST, described EFM as the gold standard in event logistics and said the agreement strengthens the operational foundation behind BLAST’s global productions.
Under the new multi-year deal, EFM will act as BLAST’s official global logistics partner for more than 20 events each year, managing air, sea and road freight as well as site-to-site transitions for a touring calendar that includes Rotterdam, Boston, Fort Worth, Hong Kong, Paris and other markets.
