Envirotainer is expanding its temperature-controlled pharmaceutical logistics network across the Americas, adding a second station in Los Angeles, increasing capacity and capabilities in Philadelphia and preparing to move its Montevideo operation to a new site.
The investments are designed to strengthen Envirotainer’s presence in both North and South America while giving pharmaceutical customers greater access to temperature-controlled logistics solutions and operational support across key trade lanes.
The expansion comes as pharmaceutical supply chains become increasingly distributed geographically, with demand patterns and trade routes continuing to evolve. Envirotainer says its network investments are intended to help customers respond to greater complexity and maintain continuity as their supply chains change.
“Supply chain resilience is ultimately about giving our customers confidence that the right solutions, capabilities and expertise will be available when and where they need them,” said Barbara Morgan, Regional President, Americas at Envirotainer.
“Our continued investment in the Americas is a direct response to how pharmaceutical supply chains are changing. By strengthening our network and expanding our local capabilities, we are helping customers navigate uncertainty, adapt to changing demand and maintain continuity across their supply chains,” she added.
Additional capabilities in Los Angeles
In Los Angeles, Envirotainer has established a second facility to expand local access to a range of temperature-controlled logistics services.
The new site will provide additional ULD and Prooftainer ground handling and repair capabilities, alongside Parcel Rental and Sales services.
The expansion gives pharmaceutical customers greater local access to equipment and related support while increasing the network’s ability to respond to demand in one of the key logistics markets in the Americas.
Philadelphia receives additional capacity
Envirotainer is also increasing its operational capabilities in Philadelphia.
The company is investing in dedicated Parcel facilities, additional warehouse capacity, new equipment and higher levels of safety stock.
These investments are intended to support faster fulfilment and improve product availability, providing customers with more immediate access to the equipment and services required for temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical shipments.
The additional capacity is also designed to improve Envirotainer’s ability to respond as pharmaceutical logistics requirements and trade flows continue to change.
Montevideo relocation planned for 2027
In South America, Envirotainer plans to relocate its Montevideo operation to a new site in early October 2027.
The move will strengthen the company’s base for supporting customers across Latin America while maintaining its existing service offering.
The planned relocation forms part of the wider strategy to reinforce Envirotainer’s regional network and ensure that pharmaceutical customers have access to the necessary temperature-controlled logistics capabilities as supply chains continue to evolve.
“The Americas is a strategically important region for pharmaceutical manufacturing, distribution and innovation, and our customers are looking for partners that can support them as their supply chains evolve,” said Aymeric Chandavoine, CEO at Envirotainer.
“These investments strengthen our ability to be closer to our customers, provide faster access to solutions and expertise, and deliver the operational flexibility they need,” he added.
According to Chandavoine, continued investment in the network is aimed not only at supporting current pharmaceutical supply chains but also at preparing customers for future changes in the market.
“By continuing to invest in our network, we are building the resilience required not only to support today’s pharmaceutical supply chains, but also to help our customers prepare for what comes next,” he said.
