Globe Air Cargo is highlighting the continued growth of EGYPTAIR’s cargo business in Türkiye and France, following more than a decade of cooperation that has helped expand the Egyptian carrier’s freight presence in both markets.

In Türkiye, Globe Air Cargo has supported EGYPTAIR’s development from a carrier relying primarily on belly cargo capacity to one of the top 10 airlines serving the Turkish market.

Alongside its scheduled passenger services, EGYPTAIR now operates two Airbus A330 freighter flights per week.

The airline currently provides 105 tonnes of weekly freight capacity on its scheduled services from Istanbul to Cairo. The cargo mix is broad, covering pharmaceuticals, aerospace shipments, grains, pulses, seeds and general cargo.

Strong demand between Türkiye and Egypt

Globe Air Cargo Türkiye has served as EGYPTAIR’s contracted GSSA in Türkiye since 2016, with a dedicated team responsible for maintaining fast communication and supporting the airline’s commercial activities.

Ersun Guven, managing director of Globe Air Cargo Türkiye, said the two markets have a strong strategic relationship, particularly because many Turkish manufacturers have operations in Egypt.

That industrial connection is helping sustain high load factors in both directions, while demand for cargo capacity continues to increase.

EGYPTAIR and Globe Air Cargo also share an emphasis on flexibility and customer-focused services. Their cooperation therefore extends beyond scheduled cargo to include project and part charters.

What initially centred on scheduled passenger flights between Cairo and Istanbul has expanded to two weekly freighter services, with the possibility of increasing the frequency to four freighters per week as market demand develops.

Globe Air Cargo Türkiye manages tender activities, operational support, import sales, charter operations and EGYPTAIR’s wider commercial activities in the Turkish market.

France delivers another strong performance

The partnership has also produced significant results in France, where Globe Air Cargo France has represented EGYPTAIR since 2010.

The French GSSA markets cargo capacity on EGYPTAIR’s daily Boeing 787 Dreamliner service between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Cairo.

It also handles capacity on the airline’s two to three weekly Airbus A300 freighter services from Ostend to Cairo.

A key focus for Globe Air Cargo France is promoting Cairo as a regional transshipment hub for onward cargo movements to markets including Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Johannesburg in South Africa.

Cargo volumes from France have continued to rise. The company expects 2026 to be the third consecutive record year, following more than 2,500 tonnes in 2024 and 2,670 tonnes in 2025.

Digital tools and specialised cargo support growth

Franck Tordjman, managing director of Globe Air Cargo France, said sustainable growth depends on maintaining long-term customer relationships, positioning specialised cargo products effectively and increasing the use of digital booking channels.

The company has particularly encouraged online bookings for shipments weighing less than 300 kg.

Greater use of online booking allows Globe Air Cargo to optimise aircraft capacity more quickly and efficiently through its internal digital tools.

Specialised products such as pharmaceuticals, perishables and live animals are also part of the company’s strategy to develop targeted cargo opportunities.

GSSA partnership supports EGYPTAIR’s expansion

Jean Ceccaldi, chief executive officer of ECS Group, said EGYPTAIR’s performance in Türkiye and France demonstrates the value of an experienced GSSA with strong local market knowledge.

He highlighted the combination of local expertise, digital solutions and a long-term commercial partnership as key factors behind the airline’s continued cargo growth.

For Globe Air Cargo, the objective remains to combine commercial efficiency with customer-focused service while helping EGYPTAIR expand its freight operations across important international markets.
