Kuehne+Nagel has opened a new logistics facility in Laredo, Texas, aiming to ease cross-border trade between the United States and Mexico — a corridor where volumes are climbing fast and infrastructure is under pressure.
Located just a few miles from the border, the site is designed to handle increasing demand from both sides. It offers faster processing, tighter integration with customs, and flexible services tailored to the needs of regional and international shippers.
“This is not just a warehouse — it’s a commitment to building long-term capacity where our customers need it most,” said a senior Kuehne+Nagel official involved in the project. “The proximity to the border makes it a key piece in our North American network.”
Covering more than 100,000 square feet, the facility includes bonded areas, temperature-controlled zones, and a 24/7 customs brokerage team on-site. The design responds directly to growing customer expectations for speed, compliance, and visibility — especially in sectors like automotive, consumer electronics, and retail.
The company has also integrated value-added services such as repacking, inspection, and real-time tracking. These additions give customers greater control over complex supply chains and make it easier to manage urgent shipments crossing the U.S.–Mexico border.
Laredo has grown into a major logistics hub over the past decade, as companies turn to nearshoring to shorten supply lines and reduce dependence on overseas production. For Kuehne+Nagel, the new facility is part of a broader push to adapt to this shift and bring operations closer to end markets.
“Supply chains are moving faster, but they’re also more fragile. That’s why regional resilience is key,” the executive said. “With this site, we’re helping customers move more efficiently — and with fewer surprises.”
The investment also fits into Kuehne+Nagel’s long-term strategy to strengthen its footprint in North America. As cross-border trade continues to grow, the company is betting on Laredo as a critical entry point for goods moving between the two economies.
Already operational, the hub is supporting inbound and outbound flows for clients in multiple industries. And with volumes expected to keep climbing, Kuehne+Nagel is prepared to scale as needed.
In today’s logistics world, reliability at the border is no longer a bonus — it’s a necessity. And with its new Laredo hub, Kuehne+Nagel is positioning itself right where that reliability begins.
