Menzies Aviation Charts Global Growth with Record $2.6B Revenue in 2024

In a year defined by market volatility and growing operational complexity, Menzies Aviation has delivered a powerful message to the global logistics and aviation sectors: adaptability and investment still pay off. The ground services giant announced a record-breaking $2.6 billion in global revenue for 2024, reinforcing its status as a key player across cargo handling, fueling, and passenger services.

Operating across six continents and over 290 locations, Menzies Aviation has successfully navigated macroeconomic pressures and supply chain disruptions. With air cargo demand rebounding post-pandemic and e-commerce volumes climbing in emerging markets, the company’s strategic expansion appears to be well-timed and precisely targeted.

Aggressive Expansion and Network Strengthening

Following its 2022 acquisition by Agility, Menzies has moved quickly to deepen its footprint. In 2024 alone, the company added operations at more than 30 new airports, including in high-growth markets such as India, Brazil, and key hubs in the Middle East and Africa.

Charles Wyley, Executive Vice President of Cargo, emphasized that expanding capacity wasn’t enough: “We’ve focused on building resilience into our ground operations — that means technology, people, and sustainable infrastructure.”

This includes multimillion-dollar investments in automated cargo handling systems, new cargo warehouses, and digital tracking platforms that reduce turnaround time and improve transparency for freight customers.

Cargo Drives Momentum

While passenger services remain a strong revenue stream, Menzies Aviation’s cargo handling arm has become a critical growth engine. The company processed over 2 million tonnes of cargo last year — a figure bolstered by new contracts with leading global carriers and the continued strength of pharmaceutical, electronics, and perishable shipments.

“Our cargo division has outperformed expectations,” said Wyley. “Pharma logistics, in particular, require precision and consistency, and that’s exactly where we’ve invested.”

Notably, Menzies was recently awarded multi-year handling contracts with airlines expanding their presence in Europe and Asia-Pacific, and it opened a specialized temperature-controlled facility in Nairobi in Q4 2024.

Focus on Sustainability and Talent

In line with industry shifts, Menzies Aviation has accelerated its environmental and social governance (ESG) commitments. The company has pledged to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2045 and is rapidly replacing its ground service equipment fleet with electric alternatives.

Workforce development has also taken center stage, with more than 5,000 new employees onboarded globally in 2024. The company is doubling down on training and certification programs, aiming to enhance safety, efficiency, and career growth opportunities — particularly in underserved regions.

Outlook for 2025 and Beyond

Menzies Aviation expects further growth in 2025, projecting increased demand for cargo services, contract wins in Africa and Southeast Asia, and continued momentum in digital transformation.

With logistics volatility set to persist due to geopolitical tension, regulatory shifts, and climate-related disruptions, Menzies’ leadership says the company is preparing for all scenarios.

“Being global is no longer enough,” said Philipp Joeinig, CEO of Menzies Aviation. “You must be agile, digital-first, and deeply connected to your partners’ evolving needs. Our results in 2024 are just the beginning of what we aim to deliver.”
