Molson Coors has appointed Matthew Hook as its next chief supply chain officer for the Americas, with the transition scheduled to take effect on October 12. The company confirmed the appointment in an email to Supply Chain Dive, marking a new chapter in its regional supply chain leadership.
Hook moves into the position after serving as vice president of manufacturing operations for North America. Over 27 years with Molson Coors, he has built extensive experience across manufacturing, engineering, logistics, customer supply, procurement, import and export operations, and demand planning. His previous responsibilities also included serving as chief supply chain officer for Canada.
His career with the company began in 1999, when he joined as a production management trainee at a brewery in Toronto. Since then, he has held roles spanning several key areas of the business, giving him broad operational experience across the beverage supply chain.
In his most recent position, Hook contributed to the modernization of Molson Coors’ breweries and helped reinforce the operational foundations needed to improve customer service. Maintaining that progress will be a central priority as he assumes responsibility for supply chain activities across the Americas.
CEO Rahul Goyal outlined his expectations in a letter to distributors shared with Supply Chain Dive. He said he had asked Hook to build on the work already underway, drawing on the commitment and capabilities of the supply chain team while keeping operational improvements and service performance at the forefront of the transition.
Hook will succeed Brian Erhardt, who is retiring from his current role but will remain involved as a senior adviser. Erhardt spent 25 years at Molson Coors, taking on progressively broader responsibilities across strategy, supply chain management and sales, according to Goyal.
The CEO credited Erhardt with playing a significant role in the company’s evolution from a beer-focused business into a broader beverage producer. Goyal also highlighted the value of Erhardt’s advice and confirmed that he would continue in an advisory capacity into 2027, supporting the leadership handover and several company-wide initiatives.
The appointment comes as part of Molson Coors’ ongoing portfolio adjustment to changing consumer preferences and market dynamics. A big change is the increasing demand for non-alcoholic drinks and the company is working to boost its position in the segment.
Earlier this year, Molson Coors announced plans to roll out its Coors 0.0 non-alcoholic beer nationwide and expand the availability of Naked Life, its non-alcoholic canned cocktail brand. The moves are part of the company’s effort to diversify beyond traditional beer products.
Meanwhile, the brewer is increasingly moving toward cheaper alcohol products as consumers struggle with rising costs of living. Its strategy also includes the return of Keystone Ice and a broader line of Miller High Life products aimed at demand for lower priced offerings.
In this context, Hooks’ appointment introduces an experienced internal executive to the leadership of a supply chain organization tasked with modernizing operations and managing a shifting product mix. “The company’s next chapter will be about maintaining continued service levels as manufacturing and distribution operations adapt to these new priorities.
