Morocco has taken a significant step in enhancing regional cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Palestine, aimed at boosting collaboration in transportation and logistics. This strategic agreement covers air, maritime, and road transport, as well as the development of logistics infrastructure, reinforcing Morocco’s commitment to supporting Palestine’s economic growth and connectivity.

Key Areas of Collaboration

✔ Air Transport Development – Morocco will assist in the reconstruction of Yasser Arafat International Airport in Gaza, train Palestinian civil aviation professionals, and support Palestine’s bid for International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) membership.
✔ Maritime Transport Growth – Morocco will provide expertise in merchant fleet management and maritime safety, helping Palestine integrate into global shipping networks and secure International Maritime Organization (IMO) membership.
✔ Road Transport Optimization – The agreement includes technical training, road safety measures, and mutual recognition of driver’s licenses, ensuring more efficient and safer transportation systems.
✔ Logistics Infrastructure Expansion – Both nations will develop logistics zones, enhance supply chain connectivity, and encourage private investment in logistics services.

Why This Agreement Matters

🔹 Strengthening Economic Ties – By developing integrated transport solutions, Palestine can enhance trade, mobility, and supply chain resilience.
🔹 Boosting Regional Connectivity – Improved logistics infrastructure will enable Palestine to access new markets and optimize freight movement.
