Quantix Expands Chemical Logistics Expertise with Strategic Acquisition of CLX Logistics

CHICAGO, April 2, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Quantix SCS (“Quantix”), a leading North American supply chain services provider specializing in the chemical industry and a portfolio company of Wind Point Partners (“Wind Point”), proudly announced the acquisition of CLX Logistics (“CLX”). Known for its extensive 25-year history, CLX offers a wide range of logistics services, including transportation management systems, managed services, supply chain consulting, and advanced technology solutions, catering to clients in North America and Europe and managing $500 million in freight annually.

Headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas, Quantix’s acquisition of CLX significantly enhances its service offerings for the chemical sector, introducing an innovative technology suite and comprehensive managed supply chain solutions for global customers. The combined strengths of Quantix and CLX create a powerhouse with over $2 billion in logistics spend, encompassing approximately 5,400 owned assets, more than 40 distribution centers and rail terminals, and 3,300 partner carrier relationships. This merger not only solidifies Quantix’s footprint in North American and European markets but also positions the unified entity as a formidable force in the nearly $100 billion global chemical supply chain logistics sector.

Chris Ball, President and CEO of Quantix, expressed enthusiasm about the merger, highlighting the added value for customers through the integration of CLX’s vast offerings, technology, and analytics products. “Joining forces with CLX underlines our ambition to be the go-to leader in the chemical 3PL market, enriching our capabilities and delivering unparalleled service to our clients,” stated Ball.

CLX’s Founder and Chairman, J. Stephen Hamilton, shared his optimism for the future, noting Quantix’s deep understanding of the chemical industry’s logistics needs and looking forward to contributing to enhanced service delivery through their combined global presence and expertise.

Konrad Salaber, Managing Director at Wind Point, underscored the strategic significance of adding CLX’s liquid capabilities to Quantix’s portfolio, further cementing their status as a top chemical 3PL provider and expressing commitment to offering a comprehensive suite of services to their customers.

This acquisition marks Quantix’s tenth under Wind Point’s stewardship, with a continued focus on acquiring firms that offer a broad spectrum of chemical bulk transportation, warehousing, export, and logistics services. Quantix remains dedicated to driving innovation, safety, and quality across its operations, supported by a network spanning over 80 locations across the U.S. and a strong commitment to sustainability and customer success.
