Silk Way West Airlines, an Azerbaijani air cargo carrier, recently announced the opening of a new cargo hub in Saudi Arabia. This expansion supports growing demand for air cargo in the Middle East, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030’s emphasis on expanding logistics as a key economic pillar. The new hub, located at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, enables Silk Way West to provide faster transit times and improved connectivity for clients in the region.
In addition to boosting regional capacity, Silk Way West’s new hub will offer specialized handling for high-value goods, perishables, and e-commerce items, meeting the needs of diverse industries across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. CEO Wolfgang Meier emphasized that the Riyadh hub will play a vital role in Silk Way’s strategic growth in the Middle East, allowing the company to capitalize on Saudi Arabia’s emerging role as a logistics hub. This development is part of Silk Way West’s larger plan to increase fleet size and establish a stronger global footprint, ultimately reinforcing its commitment to serving the Middle East and beyond.
