TGS has secured two new offshore survey contracts in the Norwegian North Sea, further reinforcing its strong activity in the region’s seismic data market.

The first contract covers a 4D streamer survey for an unnamed client. A Ramform Titan-class vessel is expected to mobilise for the project at the end of July, with operations planned to last around 45 days.

The second contract is an Ocean Bottom Node (OBN) project, with mobilisation scheduled for June and an estimated duration of approximately 25 days.

Alongside this, TGS is already running an acquisition campaign using its node-on-a-rope crew, which will operate in parallel with the new work through an ROV-based deployment solution. This allows the company to maintain multiple data acquisition methods simultaneously across different offshore environments.

The latest awards come during a particularly active period for TGS. Earlier in May, the company secured an ultra-high-resolution OBN contract in the US Gulf of Mexico, adding to its global backlog of offshore geoscience work.

At the same time, TGS is continuing development of another multi client seismic programme in the Norwegian North Sea, including a new 3D streamer survey in the Åsta Graben area. This reflects a broader push to expand its dataset coverage across key hydrocarbon basins.

Taken together, these projects underline the sustained demand for high-resolution subsurface data, particularly in mature offshore regions where operators rely heavily on seismic imaging to optimise field development and production planning.
