Operations at several major Omani maritime facilities have been disrupted following drone attacks targeting the ports of Duqm and Salalah, highlighting the widening impact of the Middle East conflict on regional logistics infrastructure.

According to Oman’s state media, two drones were intercepted on 3 March, while a third reportedly fell within the port area of Salalah.

Authorities confirmed that no casualties or major damage were recorded.

Fuel infrastructure targeted

In a separate incident, multiple drones struck fuel storage tanks at the Port of Duqm, according to the Oman News Agency.

One of the tanks was reportedly hit, though officials said the damage had been contained and no injuries had occurred.

Following the attacks, shipping services provider Inchcape Shipping Services confirmed that operations have been partially suspended at several facilities, including:
• Port of Duqm
• Asyad Drydock Duqm
• Salalah General Cargo Terminal

Wider regional disruptions

The attacks appear to be part of a broader campaign targeting energy and logistics infrastructure across the Gulf region.

Elsewhere, a fire broke out at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone in the United Arab Emirates, reportedly caused by debris from an Iranian drone.

The blaze was quickly brought under control, but operations at the Fujairah Oil Terminal were temporarily suspended as a precaution.

Rising security tensions

Regional authorities report a sharp escalation in drone and missile activity.

The United Arab Emirates said it had intercepted 172 missiles and 755 drones since 28 February, while Bahrain reported intercepting 73 missiles and 91 drones during the same period.

Meanwhile, U.S. officials have warned of a potential imminent threat of missile and UAV attacks near Dhahran in Saudi Arabia, home to both a U.S. consulate and the headquarters of Saudi Aramco.
