TAP Air Portugal has appointed Aeroprime Group as its exclusive cargo general sales and service agent for pan-India, a move designed to strengthen the airline’s position in one of the world’s most promising airfreight markets.
The agreement takes effect this month and will see Aeroprime manage TAP’s cargo sales, marketing, customer engagement and operational coordination throughout India.
For TAP, the partnership is intended to deepen local market reach at a time when India is generating growing volumes in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, perishables and e-commerce. The airline, Portugal’s national carrier, already connects India-linked cargo flows to major destinations across Europe, Africa and the Americas, and now wants to expand its share in those lanes.
Aeroprime said it will use its nationwide presence, technology-driven processes and established network of freight forwarders and logistics partners to develop the business further. The company, headquartered in New Delhi, provides airline representation, cargo management, sales, marketing and digital aviation solutions.
Bruno Aires, TAP Air Portugal’s global cargo senior director, described India as a high-potential market for the airline’s cargo business. He said the appointment of Aeroprime strengthens TAP’s local presence and positions the carrier to respond more effectively to the needs of India’s cargo community while growing access to key international markets.
Aeroprime executive director and chief executive Abhishek Goyal said the partnership will allow the company to bring a focused and data-led approach to cargo development. He added that Aeroprime’s pan-India sales network and emphasis on service quality should help deepen TAP’s cargo footprint and create fresh opportunities for trade between India and global destinations served by the airline.
