Magma Aviation has promoted Paul Hoatson to the role of director of commercial and network planning, strengthening its senior leadership team as it looks to further integrate its market strategy with network development.
Hoatson most recently served as the company’s head of network planning and alliances, a role he held for the past three years. Before that, he worked as commercial manager at Magma.
Prior to joining the freighter service provider, he spent seven years at Etihad, where he last served as regional key account manager for the Middle East and Africa.
Magma said Hoatson has played a key role in shaping the company’s network strategy, route development plans and partnership framework.
In his new position, he is expected to take a broader role in aligning commercial priorities with the company’s network planning capabilities.
Hoatson said his main focus will remain on network and fleet expansion, while also creating stronger opportunities to support customers, open new markets and bring commercial, marketing and planning functions closer together.
Chief executive Peter Kerins said Hoatson has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of Magma’s network, customer base and market environment since joining the company eight years ago. He added that the appointment will strengthen the company’s leadership structure and create closer alignment between its commercial and marketing direction and its operational strategy.
