Rhenus has expanded its partnership with Britax Römer by delivering a fully integrated logistics solution designed to support the company’s evolving supply chain structure and increasing operational scale across Europe.

The collaboration marks a shift from a previously limited logistics scope to a comprehensive end-to-end setup, aligning multiple Rhenus business units to provide a coordinated and scalable logistics model.

As Britax Römer adjusted its sourcing and production footprint, it faced rising complexity and volume requirements. In response, Rhenus developed a solution focused on stability, transparency and scalability across the European supply chain.

At the centre of the setup is the Rhenus logistics site in Wesel, Germany. The operation integrates inbound ocean freight flows from China arriving in Rotterdam, followed by inland waterway transport, centralised warehousing and distribution across Europe via road freight.

The system also incorporates inland transport via Contargo, ensuring efficient connections between the Port of Rotterdam and the Wesel hub.

A key feature of the project is the coordination between multiple Rhenus business units. Rather than delivering isolated services, the company implemented a unified execution model, reducing operational interfaces and enabling a consistent end-to-end supply chain structure.

Jürgen Kraus, Director of Distribution at Britax Römer Child Safety EMEA, said the collaboration provided the clarity and consistency needed during a critical phase of supply chain transformation, supporting confident decision-making as operations scaled.

Wesel plays a central role in the network, offering the infrastructure, connectivity and capacity required to manage inbound flows, central warehousing and outbound European distribution. Its location provides direct access to key seaports, inland waterways and major road corridors.

According to Tim Jaspert, Global Business Development Director at Rhenus, the project was built around a shared objective: delivering a stable and scalable logistics setup aligned with Britax Römer’s evolving supply chain. By working as one integrated team, he said, Rhenus was able to simplify operations and focus on reliable execution.

The project highlights how integrated logistics models are increasingly being used to manage complexity and support growth during periods of supply chain transformation.
