Munich Airport Group significantly improved its financial performance in 2025, reporting a net profit after taxes of €169 million as passenger demand, flight movements and air cargo volumes all moved higher.
The result represented an increase of €105 million from the previous year, while revenue rose to a new record of nearly €1.8 billion. Operating profit before interest and taxes also improved, reaching €219 million, up from €195 million a year earlier.
The growth was underpinned by stronger traffic through the airport. A total of 43.4 million passengers travelled via Munich in 2025, an increase of 1.8 million compared with the prior year, equivalent to annual passenger growth of 4.4 percent. Flight movements also climbed, with more than 337,000 take-offs and landings recorded, up 3.1 percent.
European and intercontinental services again provided the main momentum. Traffic to European destinations and Mediterranean markets rose by around 4 percent, while long-haul services delivered even stronger performance, increasing by roughly 9 percent year on year.
Munich also continued to broaden its route network. By the end of 2025, the airport served 232 destinations worldwide and hosted regular operations by 96 airlines, including five freighter carriers.
Cargo activity followed the same positive trajectory. Airfreight volumes rose by 10 percent to around 340,000 tonnes, putting Munich 2 percent above pre-crisis cargo levels and reinforcing its role as an increasingly important freight gateway alongside its passenger operations.
