Deutsche Aircraft has appointed Wolfgang Kuhl as Vice President Programs & Innovation, reinforcing its leadership team as the D328eco programme enters a key phase of development.
Kuhl moves into the role after serving as Director Program D328eco since 2023, during which time he oversaw important design and industrialisation milestones, supported the re-industrialisation of the Dornier 328 platform and helped strengthen the programme’s technical and commercial foundations.
Before joining Deutsche Aircraft, he held senior positions at Airbus Defence and Space, where he contributed to a major multinational UAV defence programme. The company said his experience in complex aerospace delivery will support a broader remit in his new position.
As Vice President Programs & Innovation, Kuhl will be responsible for the full programme portfolio and the company’s product roadmap. His focus will include further development of the D328eco, strengthening multi-role capabilities and expanding the platform’s role in defence-oriented applications.
Kuhl said he was pleased to take on the position and to build on the work already carried out on the D328eco. He added that one of his priorities will be advancing multi-role and defence-related capabilities in response to a more volatile global environment.
Chief executive Nico Neumann said Kuhl has already played an important role in advancing both the D328eco and Deutsche Aircraft’s position as an OEM. He added that his expertise will now support the development of the D328MR for defence and multi-role use, while also helping integrate advanced technologies, drive sustainability initiatives and sharpen the company’s product strategy.
In his expanded role, Kuhl will also lead innovation programmes across the business and secure partnerships aimed at strengthening Deutsche Aircraft’s position as a provider of multi-role platforms. The company said it remains committed both to supporting the global Dornier 328 fleet and to accelerating the development of next-generation, climate-friendly regional aircraft.
