Fulfillment Partner Expands Offerings with ProPack Acquisition

Fulfillment provider Stord recently announced its acquisition of ProPack Logistics, aiming to enhance its temperature-controlled and last-mile shipping services for omnichannel brands. While the terms of the deal remain undisclosed, the move signifies Stord’s strategic push to solidify its position in the market.

“ProPack’s 30 years of industry experience further strengthens Stord’s capabilities, positioning us as the preferred choice for brands seeking specialized temperature-controlled storage and transportation solutions,” said Sean Henry, co-founder and CEO, in an interview with FreightWaves.

Stord has already established itself as a leader in fulfilling nutritional products for clients such as Athletic Greens, Legion Athletics, and Seed Health. With the addition of ProPack’s expertise, Stord aims to extend its support to health and beauty brands with similar temperature-sensitive requirements.

Moreover, the acquisition allows Stord to expand its presence into new markets across the United States and Canada. While Stord currently operates fulfillment centers in Atlanta, North Haven, Dallas, Las Vegas, and Reno, the purchase introduces Stord to key locations such as Seattle, Salt Lake City, Nashville, Vancouver, and Mississauga.

With this expansion, Stord’s network now encompasses 1.6 million square feet of fulfillment centers. The company anticipates processing over 25 million direct-to-consumer and business-to-business orders annually with its enhanced infrastructure.

“The strategic placement of ProPack’s facilities complements Stord’s existing network, enabling us to offer brands the geographical coverage they require,” noted Henry. “Combined with Stord’s advanced order and warehouse management systems, this expansion enhances speed, efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness for our clients.”

In addition to the acquisition, Stord has been proactive in introducing innovative solutions to meet evolving market demands. Last October, the company launched a vendor delivery consolidation program to assist small merchants in securing shelf space with major retailers. Furthermore, Stord introduced Stord One Commerce, an order management system designed to optimize order routing, multichannel inventory, and last-mile delivery.

As consumer expectations continue to evolve in the e-commerce landscape, Stord remains committed to providing comprehensive solutions that empower brands to thrive in a competitive market. Henry emphasized, “Stord is uniquely positioned to address the evolving needs of brands, enabling them to enhance sales, reduce costs, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.”
